Approval period for SASSA grant application

SASSA Application Status: Referring

SASSA Application Status: Pending

No Longer Need a Grant

- Open the Cancel My Application tab and click the yellow button to cancel the application.

- After that click on Send Pin. You will get a message on your registered phone number which will contain a One-Time Password (OTP) of SASSA enter this password in the given space in the window and confirm.
- After that click on Cancel My Grant to cancel your grant and then click Yes to confirm.
- After some time you will receive an SMS on your registered phone number informing you that your grant has been cancelled.
Using email
You can also submit your SASSA grant canceling application using your email ID. For this, you have to send an email to the SASSA official email.

In this procedure, you have to draft a message. You will tell us about the cancellation of your application and your grant reference number and personal details, such as your ID card number and phone number.

History
Of the R155.3 billion allocated for social welfare in 2015, R53.5 billion was given to pensioners, R478 billion was allocated as child sports grants, R20.2 billion was distributed to the public as ulti-grand, and R8.5 billion was Allocated for other grants. The remaining amount was spent on management and administration.
SASSA announced that from April 1, 2023, all grants will be increased. The old age grant is allocated to R2080 for those aged between 60 and 74 and R2100 for recipients above 75 years of age. Apart from this, the Disability Grant and Care Dependency Grant have been increased to R2080, while the Child Support Grant has been increased to R500, the Foster Child Grant has been increased to R1120 and the War Veteran Grant has been increased to R2100.
The Grant-In-Aid Increased to R500. Further, the SASSA Grants Payment has been increased from 1 October 2023. The SRD grant was subsequently increased to R350 which was further increased on 31 March. The grant is for South Africans between the ages of 18 and 59 who have no employment provided.
